Lionel Messi has urged the newly appointed Barcelona head coach Quique Setien to try and sign Sergio Aguero out of Manchester City, based on Mirror.
Setien called Messi in to get a one-on-one meeting after his appointment at the area of the sacked Ernesto Valverde a week, and it seems the six-time Ballon d’Or winner made it crystal clear that he sees his Argentina teammate as the perfect candidate to replace the injured Luis Suarez.
The 32-year-old Uruguayan has suffered a knee problem which will keep him out of action for at least four months, the Catalan club supported before the managerial change was made. It means that among the first questions Setien should answer is his attacking line will appear at that moment. Messi seemingly believes that bringing in Aguero, one of the greatest forwards in the Premier League in the previous ten years, would be the ideal answer.
Aguero is 31 years old and is now entering the last 18 months of his contract. Together with Gabriel Jesus being tipped to take over his role in the Etihad, it is unlikely he will be given a new deal, and City really might consider a sale if a significant deal comes in.
